It seems that copyright laws and a sticking point with many of our class posters. I felt like it gave me some clarity, but still find it difficult to know how to make sure I am following the laws, let alone my students. The concensus of the class seemed to be in favor of the YouTube video presentation on evaluating web pages. It was a much more teacher-friendly approach to the topic, especially for the visual learners.
The OWL article about searching for information on the web provoked a lot of thought about how we seacrh for credible information. I think as a class, we felt like Google did a sufficient job until we read that article.
The MET standards were a revelation to alot of us. I think that many of us didn;t even know they existed, let alone know we had to teach them. I admit that I didn' ever look at them because in my situation, I am not responsible for teaching them. However, after reading through the standards, I found thatI was in fact teaching many of them and will continue to strive to improve my delivery of them within my classroom.
